I suppose for a show that has such a name for a title, it’s only fitting for someone to actually get sick at some point. Victorique gets to be on the receiving end of it and sits most of the episode out, leaving Kujo to stumble upon the mysteries of the blue rose diamond without her.
So, most of the predictions from my previous post were correct about the direction of the show this week. The fiery battle at the entrance to the village took place, Cordelia’s past was (correctly) explained in detail by Victorique, and we learned the truth behind the mysterious deaths of the visitors traveling with the main characters. A lot was cleared up, but just as one bridge quite literally burned down, another was raised in the form of two mysterious figures standing on the outskirts of the village.
My bets are on the maid being the key to the mystery this time around. I’m just a little disappointed that we didn’t get a glimpse of her stirring an empty pot before their afternoon teatime.
Gosick was never a bad show to begin with, but I was getting a little bored of the mystery-of-the-week formula. Now we finally get a glimpse of Victorique’s past!
